Simply take an empty spray bottle and mix in 15 drops of sandalwood essential oil, five drops of Lemongrass and Lavender essential oils, 5 fresh sage leaves, 2 ounces of witch hazel and 1 tablespoon of alcohol. Because it has a shea butter and coconut oil base, in the winter it is pretty solid.

The first time it happened, I just thought perhaps the deodorant was reacting with the dye in the shirt (it was a new work shirt), but then it washed out… and it's washed out each time. My husband and I get terrible reactions to any deodorant we have tried with baking soda in it, all of which were completely frangrance free and without essential oils. While about 5 per cent of people who produce an odour do not use deodorant , more than a fifth (26 out of 117) of those who don't produce an odour do not use deodorant, a statistically highly significant difference.

I purchased PP last month and haven't noticed much difference between my homemade version and PP, other than the fact that my jar version has a bit more of a tacky texture when scooping it from the jar. Making your own is quick and easy which is yet two more reasons to use natural deodorant with essential oils opposed to using a store bought deodorant. From homemade blush to body scrubs, coconut oil is a great ingredient to use for beautiful skin. I had to return it. Nothing natural or regular works on me like this homemade stuff- frugal, safe and effective! I perfected a recipe for a natural and nourishing all day homemade deodorant without baking soda deodorant that works. The spray on EO recipe worked well for a while, but after I remade a bottle it stopped.

I was so bummed when this happened because I thought that FINALLY I had found an all-natural deodorant that ACTUALLY worked for my sweaty self. I love the deodorant but it leaves a greasy looking stain and I have tied several treatments to try to get this out without any success. During the cooler months, that's not a problem — my deodorant stick remains solid, just like the store-bought kind.

When working with these sorts of recipes, I work in grams and ounces because it is very difficult to quantify in volume ingredients like beeswax (some people use sheets, others use beads of varying sizes, etc.). Plus, some of the ingredients are used in such small amounts (less than 1/4 tsp.) that I wouldn't know what measurements to use.

What distinguishes these clinical type deodorants from the average deodorant is that they are more expensive and usually contain Aluminum Zirconium Trichlorohydrex Gly 20%. Another option is to rub coconut oil on your armpits (like lotion) and then dust baking soda on with a makeup brush- you can touch up during the day with the powder, which soaks up sweat and smells… an it travels well, too! I thought you should put bentonite clay in plastic or metal; only glass containers.
